Roaring Fire — a standard dwarf bearded iris bred by American hybridizer Paul Black, registered in 2018. Being one of the founders of the renowned nursery Mid-America Garden, Paul Black has released many award-winning dwarf and miniature varieties, and Roaring Fire continues this carefully refined line of standard dwarf selections.

Standard dwarf bearded irises, to which Roaring Fire belongs, are valued for their compact habit, abundant flowering, and the ability to bring colors to the foreground of a mixed border long before the high bearded varieties bloom. The neat low silhouette is well suited for rock gardens, decorating the edges of garden paths, and filling spaces at the foot of taller perennials.

In the conditions of central Russia, standard dwarf bearded irises usually bloom in early May — several weeks before the high iris season. Plant in a fully open sunny location with well-drained soil. The variety successfully combines with low spring bulbs, sedums, and carnations, allowing for maximum spring bloom.
