Buy rhizomes with delivery across Russia at the IRISSAD nursery.Iris Ocean Pearl is a standard dwarf bearded variety (SDB) by renowned American breeder Paul Black, introduced in 2008. The plant reaches a height of 38 cm and received an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 2012 — recognition of its outstanding refinement and garden value among modern dwarf varieties.
The color is a delicate composition in a pearl-blue гамме. The standards are light blue, with a clear "crystal" border along the edge that catches the sunlight like a strand of pearls. The falls are colored in the palest blue; there are pure white spots on both sides of the beard, and thin light purple veins stretch from the haft about a third of the way up the petal, giving it texture. The overall effect is radiant, fresh, "oceanic" — justifying the name "Ocean Pearl". The variety was obtained as a result of complex crossing, including Near Myth, Fires of Fiji and Marky Smith seedlings.
In central Russia, Ocean Pearl blooms in mid-May (early-mid term for SDB). The low-growing compact variety is good in rock gardens, in the foreground of a mixborder and along garden paths. It combines well with white phloxes, yellow daffodils, sage and thyme.
