Description
BRIEF KISS iris is an SDB class variety, 21-40 cm high, Blyth hybridizer, registered in 2012. Buy rhizomes with delivery across Russia at the IRISSAD nursery.Brief Kiss — soft, smoky standard dwarf bearded iris (SDB) bred by Barry Blyth, registered in 2012. The variety is a sib of the seedling Meet Me and inherits a sophisticated "picturesque" color that made Blyth's SDB program so popular among collectors. With a height of 36 cm, the variety is well suited for the front edge of the flower garden and rock gardens; the author himself notes that Brief Kiss has a particularly even color fill, charming character and good fertility.
The flower is built on a subdued pink palette. The upper petals open in smoky pink, and the lower ones darken slightly to smoky lilac pink — the two tonalities form a soft stratification of color, not a sharp contrast. Lavender beards with rich mandarin tips give an unexpectedly warm spark to the overall cool гамме — a small detail that elevates the whole image and is noticeable only on close examination.
Brief Kiss blooms in the early to mid-term for SDB — in central Russia it is mid-May. In a composition, it looks good next to dark purple SDB irises, emphasizing the smoky color, or against the background of silver foliage and creeping thyme for a softer solution. Plant in the sun, on poor drained soil, with the rhizome near the surface of the ground. The dwarf nature of the variety makes it a natural choice for small gardens, borders and stone compositions.
