Iris 'Bossy Boots' is an elegant dwarf bearded variety (SDB) bred by the famous Australian hybridizer Barry Blyth and registered in 2012. Its pedigree includes Devil's Night and a Johnson seedling, ensuring a combination of expressive coloring with sturdy garden hardiness.

The small flowers are in a warm, earthy palette: the standards (upper petals) are a rich ocher-gold tone, and the smooth falls (lower petals) are reddish-brown, velvety, framed by the finest golden-ocher border. Under the beards, a tiny yellow chevron glows, which enlivens the dark falls and emphasizes the contrast.

With a height of about 30 cm, the variety belongs to the medium-late dwarfs — in central Russia, flowering occurs at the end of May. Bossy Boots is indispensable in the foreground of a mixborder, in a rock garden, and for borders along garden paths. It combines spectacularly with blue catnip and silver thyme. It should be planted in a sunny place with light, drained soil.
