Description
ROVING GAMBLER iris is a TB class variety, 71+ cm high, Blyth hybridizer, registered in 2015. Buy rhizomes with delivery across Russia at the IRISSAD nursery.Roving Gambler — a tall bearded iris, introduced by Australian breeder Barry Blyth in 2014. The variety reaches a height of 91 cm and belongs to the group of early-mid flowering. The flower features a warm, noble palette and a pleasant sweetish aroma, placing the variety among the best bicolor works of the author.
The standards are fawn-yellow, with a soft golden hue. The falls are creamy, gradually darkening towards the edge and completed with a narrow stitched border of red-brown tone about 1 cm wide — the characteristic «stitched» pattern gives the flower a vintage charm. The beard is light, mustard-yellow, illuminates the throat and connects both tiers of petals. The flower is well-composed and proportional.
In the conditions of central Russia, Roving Gambler blooms in late May and retains its decorative appearance for about two weeks. The medium-sized bush confidently holds the flower stalks and is suitable for the central part of the mixborder. The warm earthy гамме beautifully combines with bronze daylilies, peach roses and silver sage, turning the planting into a noble composition.
