Rarer Than Rubies — a tall bearded iris by Australian breeder Barry Blyth, registered in 2006. The variety plays in tones of precious stones and literally justifies its name — "Rarer than Rubies" — thanks to its deep and rich palette.

The standards are made in a light burgundy-pink гамме and contrast with the falls, painted in a thick burgundy with a transition to plum-red. The surface of the falls has a characteristic velvety texture, which visually deepens the color and gives the flower density. A tangerine-red beard adds a warm internal accent. A sweet musky aroma enhances the feeling of luxury and is well perceived on warm days.

With a height of 102 cm, the variety belongs to the tall-growing ones and is ideal for the background of a mixborder and large group plantings. In the central zone of Russia, flowering occurs at medium-late terms, from the end of May to June. The variety prefers a sunny place and well-drained soil and effectively combines with peonies, злаками and purple foliage.
